(WQED, Pittsburgh, PA) I am very glad I happened upon your new series as it is helping me to hear what many of other people are unwilling to discuss outside of close friends and confidantes. It is also the age bracket of info I was looking for. I've watched PBS for many years and it has helped me become aware of options, resources and scenarios that helped me feel more hopeful. Thank you. - Haya E.

(MPT, Columbia, Maryland) ...as I grow older I am struck by the stories of my immigrant grandparents from Japan, my American born parents who were put into concentration camps during World War II at ages 15 and 16; and a 102 year old friend who lives in Brookeville after being widowed at 64 and moving from England at age 68. My father fought in WWII with the 442nd RCT which was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in 2011. I stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before me, just as we all do! Thank you for shedding light into the world! -- Victoria M.

(AZPBS, Phoenix, AZ) Retirement at age 68 seemed to be a difficult time after 50 plus years of lots of work which I thoroughly enjoyed. What to do now? I supervised the building of Habitat for Humanities houses, renovated several homes, and at 80 decided to reinvent my reading and studying to the humanities and sciences. I have avoided boredom, senility, and have found new and exhilarating topics to read and write about. Keep learning, doing, and living. Thanks for your programs. I just discovered it on my PBS station - Jim S.

Hi: I just wanted to let you know that my fiance and I (both millennials) just caught an episode of getting dot OLDER. So wonderful! Especially in this time of lingering covid isolation. I have a boomer mom and a silent generation father. What you've put together is so special, diverse, sweet, and helpful. I can't wait to watch it again. -- Best, Sean

(Annapolis, MD) At 57 I’m trying for k9 search and rescue, but after being sartech 2 certified have decided to track lost pets for “Dogs finding Dogs” with my dog as we get called out more. In fact, Dogs finding Dogs is made of many 50+ team members. We train every second Sunday and in between go out on real searches. - Clementine F.

I love the program. I am 60 years old. I am at an interesting crossroads in my life. I was a mother of 3 children by 19 years old after a traumatic childhood. My children are grown and I have 7 grandchildren after losing my 2nd oldest granddaughter to accidental fentanyl overdose last year. I have many medical problems. It's frustrating because I know they are issues that with determination and will power can be managed or abolished. I have 30 years with the Federal Government and I can retire anytime. I love your show because of the inspiring stories. So many hit home. I caught your show by accident about 2 months ago. I love it so much. Thank you! -- Patricia M.

(WTTW-Chicago IL) My name is "Faye", I am 73 years young and attending Northeastern Illinois University where I will receive my MA in gerontology this year. My main concerns are social isolation, health disparities, and food insecurity involving aging, especially in the LGBT senior community in Chicago. There is still very little written about LGBT aging. My thesis is "Social isolation, health disparities, and food insecurity". I live the life of my concern. I live in a senior building where I observe how others age and what activities they participate in. At this time food insecurity is a big issue and with the rising cost of food, how are seniors going to survive. I would like to get an organization or church to help in the delivery of food to those who are unable to go to food panties if there is a need for food. I spoke with a professor at NEIU with concerns about seniors of various races receiving the food they are unfamiliar with and the waste. Through this, he approached his job, AgeOptions with my concern, and AgeOptions was able to get a 3-year grant for congregate meals I am on the national board as the consumer, and I inform other about food pantries. AgeOptions now delivers food to the south suburbs in Illinois for those in need and the boxes contain items which are identifiable by race and culture. AgeOptions started another pilot program for Ford Heights which is the poorest suburb in Illinois. I was involved in putting together the soul food menu for African American/Black seniors. I have future goals in this area. -- Faye M.

(KVIE - Sacramento, CA) Roberto - Thank you -Thank you for what you are doing! There is so much life left in so many "Senior citizens" and yet we are encouraged to fall silent and accept that we have little to contribute. I'm angry at the mixed messages - how to get better medigap insurance to live longer in a non productive life, in isolation... as depression and suicide in the elderly rises, our senior citzens are left out of many activities. I want to be alive and active in my community. I love the stories you have shared! Of heartache, of caring for others.....of challenges overcome. We are missing out on people who lived, our history and those who made a difference in every cemetery in America. BRAVO Roberto! My professional life was one of a communications professor and that was an amazing place to be to tap into the pulse of my classes for "Real Talk” Best Regards, Twyla O.

(WPBT Miami-Fort Laudedale, FL) First, thank you for a wonderful program. For years I suffered with osteoarthritis. It was so bad I was bedridden for a month with pain, and inflammation. I stopped Eating animals, and animal products. I became a vegetarian. In 7 days I got up out of bed. A vegetarian diet at any age, especially when we're older changes your life. You'll feel fantastic. - Henry G.

(WHRO, Norfolk, VA) Hi Roberto! This is the second Sunday I have found your show. Each time it has captured my attention as I scroll through the channels. I would love to be interviewed by you as I have entered into retirement unexpectedly due to COVID. I was planning on retiring at age 70 but God had another plan for me and it was quite the SURPRISE! I hope to hear from you soon to talk about it. Thank you! Gwendolyn M.

(KRCB Berkeley, CA) Bro. Roberto Mighty YOU ARE FANTASTIC!!! YOU ARE A BLESSING!!! My husband and I often say there isn't any thing on television that is relevant to us, to our age group, to our racial background (Black African-American) nor to our gender in being over 60 years old. We just came across this show Getting Dot Older on Northern California Public Media (KRCBD - Ch. 722 Comcast) at 10 am. I'm normally at work, but now off due to a workers' compensation injury. We are so amazed by the beautiful peers we get to see that reflect us. Please keep doing what you're doing. We want and need more of this and we pray your show will encourage other producers to create and televise for MY/OUR demographic. Suggestion...Add a lifestyle dietary regimen segment: Low/No Sodium Meals. My husband was diagnosed with Heart Failure; we call it Heart Disease instead. Anyway, his/our new lifestyle for eating in now low/no-sodium and do you know EVERYTHING HAS SODIUM? We work with a dietitian and his cardiologist on this new lifestyle, but it would be great if shows like yours would now start putting light on sodium filled food, in our bodies and the damage it actually is causing us that shows up later in life with hypertension, kidney disease, heart disease, dementia, etc. This segment should also include a home chef/professional chef creating from easy to fancy low/no-sodium meals that anyone can make. QUESTION...How may we support you???? Thank you again, Lee and Derek H.

(WGBH - Cambridge, MA) Bravo. Watched it on delay as we were out this afternoon. Its a fascinating concept as our generation, growing up in the 50s and 60s was told by popular media that the most important thing we could ever be is Young! - Joe E.

I would love to be a part of this! My 83 year older brother sent me your information. We have a family gathering of 3 generations and he plans to use your survey as a questionnaire to our family group as an interesting conversation piece. Dave L.
